Office of the SEO Coronerseoisdead.wiki Report a death

About seoisdead.wiki

This page is about seoisdead.wiki, the record of every public claim that SEO is dead, examined and filed with sources.

It is run as the Office of the SEO Coroner: a joke, with footnotes.

What seoisdead.wiki sells

seoisdead.wiki sells nothing. No SEO, no GEO, no course, no audit. The case files stay free, and no case gets softened for anyone.

How a case gets examined

A case gets examined in three steps. The claim is quoted from its source, one sentence at most, and linked. The finding cites a primary record wherever one exists. Each finding rests on one of four grades of evidence:

  • Documented. The claimant’s own words, or a public record.
  • Tested. This office’s own checks, such as a dated look at Google’s results.
  • Inferred. Our reading of the record, with the reasoning shown.
  • Unknown. Said plainly, and the case stays open.

Traffic numbers from third-party tools are estimates, and they always name the tool and the date.

Who gets named

Who gets named is simple: publications, companies and known figures, for their public posts. Small accounts get described, never named.

Corrections and amended certificates

Corrections go out as amended certificates: if a case gets a fact wrong, the certificate gets amended and the change is noted on the case. If you are named in a case, send a reply and it will be linked from your case file.

Report an SEO death

To report an SEO death, send the link to the public post and the date you saw it to hello@seoisdead.wiki. Every report gets examined, and the finding gets filed with its sources.
